School and work calculators for grades, hours and speed
Four tools for the numbers that follow you through school and work: your GPA, your hours, the working days in a period and how fast you type.
When would you use these?
Students can use the GPA calculator to turn letter grades and credit hours into a grade point average on a 4.0 or 4.3 scale, see which courses lift or lower it and keep a running list across semesters. It leaves pass/fail courses out of the GPA, the way most schools do.
At work, the work hours calculator adds up shifts, subtracts breaks, handles overnight work and compares the total with a 40-hour week, with an estimate of pay from an hourly rate. For longer periods, the working days calculator counts workdays between two dates for a 5-day or 6-day week, takes out time off and U.S. federal holidays, and prorates a monthly salary for a partial month.
The typing speed test is a quick, one-sentence check of your words per minute and accuracy, handy before a data-entry assessment or just to see whether practice is paying off.

Frequently asked questions
Does the GPA calculator work for high school?
It calculates an unweighted GPA, which is what most colleges use. For a weighted GPA, add your school's bonus points for honors or AP courses before averaging.
Does the work hours calculator include overtime pay?
No. It estimates pay as hourly rate times hours. Overtime and shift differentials depend on your employer, state and job type.
Which holidays does the working days calculator remove?
The U.S. federal holidays, using the observed date, plus any days of time off you enter. Company-specific days can be added to the time-off field.
Is the typing test result official?
No. The grades are just for fun. For a certificate you would need an official proctored test.
Are my entries saved?
Some tools remember your last entries in your own browser for convenience. Nothing is sent to a server.
Results are for planning and reference. Check your school's grading policy and your employer's pay rules for official figures.
